This car can travel with a maximum speed of 330 km / h and accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds.
The title of the world’s fastest crossover haunts neither automakers nor tuning studios — at various times Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga Speed and
The German studio Brabus on the Nordschleife has not tested its new creation, but the basic characteristics of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S cross-coupe with the Brabus 900 Rocket Edition package are impressive. The declared maximum speed of 330 km / h and acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h in 3.2 seconds — off-road vehicles are far behind, because the performance is better than that of a supercar
To hit the record, Brabus specialists had to seriously modernize the original crossover. The displacement of the standard V8 M 177 engine was increased from 3982 to 4407 cubic centimeters (Brabus minders prefer to talk about 4.5 liters), non-standard turbochargers, larger forged pistons and connecting rods were added, the crankshaft, intake and exhaust systems were replaced, and the electronic unit was recalibrated management.
As a result, the power increased from 612 to 900 horsepower, and the torque — from 850 to 1050 Nm. Peak thrust could be higher (by
The chassis upgrade was limited to intervention in the air suspension settings — the crossover was forcibly lowered by 25 millimeters. In addition, more efficient brakes are installed with ventilated and perforated carbon-ceramic discs with a diameter of 400 millimeters in the front and 360 millimeters in the rear. The demonstration crossover has stylish 24-inch Brabus Monoblock Z Platinum Edition carbon wheels with low-profile Vredestein tires, but the German studio specifies that the maximum speed of 330 km / h was achieved on 23-inch Continental tires measuring 295/30 ZR23 at the front and 335 / 30 ZR23 at the back.
The external differences between the GLE Coupe 900 Rocket Edition and the usual Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe are enough: there are also black carbon fiber air intakes, a developed front splitter, a custom spoiler, and an original diffuser. At the rear, the «charged» crossover is provided by an exhaust system with four round tailpipes a la AMG GLE 53 and electronically controlled dampers.
Traditionally, Brabus proposes to completely alter the interior. Official pictures show the shocking version with dark red chrome and gray leather trim, but the owner can opt for more discreet options by ordering trim in natural wood, Alcantara or carbon.
Brabus has confirmed the release of 25 copies of the 900 Rocket Edition cross-coupe based on the GLE, so the starting price of 381 thousand euros (32.5 million rubles) should not be surprising. For comparison, the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe costs from 145 thousand euros (12.4 million rubles) in Germany. By overpaying for the upgrade at Bottrop, the buyer will get a three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, so the 900-horsepower SUV should be pretty reliable.
