As with other J. D. Power studies, the ratings were compiled based on the number of complaints from new car owners about fit, adjustability and quality of upholstery material. In this regard, experts note that people have practically stopped complaining about leatherette, which manufacturers are increasingly replacing natural leather with, and in most cases prefer it over fabric upholstery.
